Your Questions, Answered

  • Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 10:00 AM. We have a small lock box to the left of the front door for a seamless arrival, so you don’t need to worry about digging for a key. You will receive your personal access code 48 hours before your trip.

  • Yes! We recently upgraded to High-Speed Fiber Wi-Fi. It is fast and reliable enough to handle Zoom calls, streaming movies, and multiple devices at once. We have a roll-able desk with a monitor for those looking to get a little work done in a beautiful setting.

  • We love dogs, but to maintain a pristine, allergy-free environment for all our guests, we maintain a strict No Pets Policy. We are unable to make exceptions, even for small or well-behaved animals.

  • Absolutely. We know there is nothing worse than a rental with one dull knife. Our chef-ready kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, mixing bowls, and essential spices. For coffee, we provide a Keurig (with K-cups), a standard drip maker, and a French Press. Tea is also available.

  • It is genuinely 30 feet from the back deck. You have private access to the South Saluda River immediately behind the cabin. It is shallow enough for wading and fishing, deep enough in select spots for jumping and rope swinging, or you can just sit on the deck and listen to the water.

  • No. The roads leading to Riverdaze are paved and easily accessible for standard sedans and SUVs.

  • Yes. We provide hotel-quality sheets, bath towels, and extra blankets. We also provide a starter supply of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) and paper products so you don't have to run to the store immediately upon arrival.

  • Riverdaze is a sanctuary, not a venue. To respect our neighbors and the peaceful river setting, we strictly enforce Quiet Hours from 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Unregistered guests and parties are not permitted.

  • We provide all the household essentials (linens, cookware, toiletries), but here is a quick packing list to maximize your stay:

    • River Gear: Please bring your own beach towels for the river. We provide a few tubes, but feel free to bring extra floats, water shoes, or fishing gear to make the most of the water.

    • Outdoor Essentials: Sunscreen and bug spray are always recommended for the woods.

    • Entertainment: You can leave the games at home! We have gone to great lengths to ensure you never get bored inside. The cabin is stocked with an extensive collection of toys, fort building blocks, board games, books, and local field guides.

  • Important: Riverdaze is located in a quiet mountain area, which means we are effectively in a "food desert." The nearest full-service grocery store is about 25 minutes away.

    • Our Advice: We strongly recommend stopping for your "full shop" in Travelers Rest (if coming from Greenville) or Hendersonville (if coming from Asheville) before you drive up the mountain to the cabin.

Q: I’m flying into GSP (Greenville). Where should I stop? A: Your route will take you directly through the town of Travelers Rest. This is your last outpost for civilization.

    • Publix (Travelers Rest): Best for high-quality produce, steaks for the grill, and a great wine selection.

    • Walmart Supercenter (Travelers Rest): Best if you need groceries plus river tubes, fishing licenses, or forgotten swimsuits.

Q: I’m flying into AVL (Asheville). Where should I stop? A: You will likely drive south through Hendersonville.

    • Ingles Markets: The local mountain favorite. They have a massive selection and a great beer/wine cellar.

    • The Fresh Market: A great detour if you want upscale pre-made meals or specialty ingredients.

    • Local Tip: If you get car sick, please note that the GPS may take you down Hwy 276 (Caesars Head), which is extremely winding. Secure your eggs and milk so they don't roll around!

Q: Are there any local farm markets nearby? A: Yes! If you want to treat yourself, stop at Swamp Rabbit Grocery in Travelers Rest. It’s perfect for local cheeses, fresh-baked bread, and craft beer. It’s less for "stocking up" and more for making your stay feel special.

Q: What if I forget something once I’m at the cabin? A: Don't worry, you don't have to drive 25 minutes for milk or beer.

    • Pumpkintown General Store (5 mins): A historic local landmark that carries essentials like eggs, bread, hot dogs, ice, and beer.

    • Dollar General (10 mins): Good for all your essentials, but light on variety.

Q: Can I order groceries for pickup? A: Yes, and we highly recommend it. Download the Instacart or Walmart+ app and set your pickup location to Travelers Rest. You can place your order while waiting at baggage claim, swing by for curbside pickup on your way up, and be relaxing by the river in no time.
